Christmas morning in my home is the epicenter of tradition. The house is glittery and decorated from top to bottom. My favorite Christmas music plays throughout the house. The littlest one is somewhere eating wrapping paper.(This will be her second Christmas, I can’t wait to see how she does) When my husband and I first married, we started the tradition of Christmas Brunch in my family. I cook, they feast. It’s really the best of both worlds. For the past 8 years, my mom and sister have come over for a delicious meal, filled with sweets, something savory, and bottomless mimosas. It’s one event I truly look forward to. This year, I’m upping the sweets ante. Hello, Butter Pecan Bread Pudding Minis.
When planning the menu for this year’s brunch, I gathered my family and told them I was making something different. I can’t say that they were too thrilled with the change at first presentation. I came prepared though. I started working on something sweet. Butter Pecan Bread Pudding Minis with Vanilla Sauce. Hand held. warm and gooey. After testing the recipe on my husband, I think they’ll be okay. Butter Pecan Bread Pudding Minis with Vanilla Sauce will grace our table this Christmas. It’s just the perfect amount of sweet to compliment, my savory breakfast casserole. It’s sure to have it’s rightful place at the Christmas Brunch table. It’s tradition after all. Grab the recipe below, and tell me about your family traditions in the comments.

Thank you so much! Let me know when you do. Hey #BLMGirl!
This looks amazing!
The tradition we started for our family last year is having a hearty Christmas breakfast to feast on through-out the day in our new pajamas (another new tradition). Last year I made Egg Nog French Toast Casserole…something very similar to this, and a quiche filled with sausage, hashbrowns, onions, red and green peppers, mushrooms, and gooey cheese! I was just in process of figuring out what we will make and I think that this will fit in just right! You know you are my muse in the kitchen 😉
You give me such joy! Thank you for reading!!
About 4 years ago my fiancé and I started what we now call our Christmas Eve Twilight Breakfast. When this tradition first started it was for two reasons with the first being that at the time I worked afternoons and wouldn’t get home until close to midnight on Christmas Eve (therefore almost Christmas Day). Secondly, our Christmas Day was usually spent away from each other either because one or both of us were working or because we weren’t able to do a blended family Christmas and we wanted a private moment to ourselves to enjoy the gift of our love. Fast forwarding to the present day, our Christmas Eve Twilight Breakfast is still something we look forward to. The time has been moved up to the evening (no more afternoon shifts thank God), and this year we will wear matching pajamas, listen to R&B Christmas music (we have a customized playlist of over 60 songs), while we have a romantic candlelight breakfast. I could say that I’m most looking forward to the French toast and bacon since we rarely eat that, but that actually comes second to spending time with my love while we celebrate what has become our “thing”, the Christmas Eve Twilight Breakfast.
I love traditions! Christmas Eve Twilight breakfast sounds like fun!!
I don’t usually like bread pudding, but this looks wonderful!
Thank you!!
