Soul Food Friday: Change and beauty | Indianapolis Food Blogger

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

First, let me start by thanking all of you who messaged me or contacted me during my time of bereavement in the passing of my beloved Granny.
I appreciate you allowing me time away from FoodLoveTog and sticking around with me. It means a lot that I have people that want to read my posts. Thank you.

So today, I’m going to share something personal. It’s along the lines of a Soul Food Friday post, but a little tailored.

I haven’t shared this here yet….
So here goes:
My husband and I are expecting a little girl this coming March.
** insert screams and hysterics**
We’re overjoyed with the privilege to be carry out such an important task.

So what’s the change: life.
God gives life, and when that life’s job is done, God returns his precious creation back to his arms.
In the midst of mourning my Granny, I’m blessed with the beauty of becoming a mother. What a priceless and beautiful gift that is.

I wanted to share this with you because many times, we get so caught up in the loss of something or someone that we fail to realize that God is steadily restoring and creating new beauties and memories around us.
Scripture tells us “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 (ESV)
