Spice it Up! | Indianapolis Food Blogger

Good Morning and happy Friday!
I know today is usually Soul Food Friday, but today, I wanted to share something special.
With the holiday season approaching at rapid speed, I thought it will be awesome to share my go-to spice mix/house seasoning. This would be great on a crown roast, roasted chicken, and many others!
I call it my “house seasoning”, because I pretty much use it on everything and it has much more flavor and less sodium than the pre-made ones.
What I love about my “house seasoning” is that, I can tailor it to fit MY needs, add more of this, less of that and still get the perfect blend.
This can be whipped up fairly easily and stored in a shaker top container for quick use.
So here ya have it!

Candace’s House Seasoning
1 ½ Tablespoons of Kosher Salt
¾ Tablespoon of Ground Black Pepper
1 ½ Tablespoons of Smoked Paprika (Regular will be just as good)
¾ Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
¾ Tablespoon of Onion Powder

Combine all spices and stir together well.
Using a funnel, add the mixed spices to reserved shaker top container.
Cover and store in a cool dry place with all your other handy, dandy spices.
Use as a house seasoning for all your cooking needs.
