Soul Food Friday: Glory After This | Indianapolis Food Blogger

Happy Friday!
It’s raining this morning here in Indy, so how fitting that this post deals a bit with nature.

What is your *this*? Something that you’re dealing with-a hard to handle boss, a crazier than crazy schedule, debt, hurt, sickness? We all, at times have a *this*. That something that keeps us up at night, that one thing that we say, ” if I can just get through *this*, I’ll be alright.” Well I’m here to tell you that you will be better than alright. Often times the struggles of our lives are here to turn us into better people. Yes-your struggles were created for you to grow. We’ll be better for them- at least should be.
Scripture tells us in Romans
There will be glory after *this*.
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18 KJV) Scripute literally tells us that the suffering we experience now, is no match for the glory of what we’ll experience after. Whoa.
The issues we go through, the struggles we face will better us the end. So, there is a purpose for your pain?! Yep.

MaryMary, a duo gospel group has a song titled “Dirt”. They use the analogy of a garden and while everything is beautiful and splendid, it needs dirt to make it so. The chorus of the song simply says, “We all need a little bit of dirt to grow.” How fitting.
Yes, you, me, we, she, him, them- all need “dirt” to grow.
When we look at life’s struggles an realize that they’re only to better us and not bitter us, we can have a larger appreciation for this journey called life.

Thanks for reading!
