It’s Cinco De Mayo!! In honor of today, I want to share an appetizer recipe for you to take with you to your next Cinco De Mayo shindig. Drunken Shrimp! I’m a lover of shrimp, but my husband is allergic, so I rarely  cook them at home. But when I do… I come up with recipes like this one. Check out the photo guide and the recipe below.

Drunken Shrimp

Ingredients
  1. 3/4 pound of Raw, Peeled and Deveined Gulf Shrimp
  2. The juice of 1 lime, divided into 2 parts
  3. 1/2 Cup of Tequila, divided into 2 parts
  4. 1/2 cup of Tri Pepper & Onion Blend
  5. 1 Tablespoon of Butter
  6. Pinch of Salt.
  7. Pepper
  8. Paprika 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Cumin 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Garlic Powder (Pinch)
  11. Cilantro for garnish
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl combine, 1/2 lime juice, 1/2 tequila, shrimp and spices.
  2. Stir and cover and allow to marinade for a minimum of 20 minutes. I marinade seafood and shrimp no longer than 40 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl combine the remaining lime juice, tri-pepper blend and tequila and set aside.
  4. In a shallow skillet, melt one tablespoon of butter, add lime & tequila mixture, shrimp (remove from marinade and discard), tri-pepper blend and stir to combine.
  5. Cook on Medium Heat for 2 and 1/2 minutes or until shrimp turns pink.
  6. Garnish with Cilantro and serve immediately with your favorite Red Sangria!
